Lake Nyasa is similar to Lake Tanganyika in many ways but on a less grand scale and with less wildlife reserves close-by. It serves as a partial western border with Malawi and is an inland jewel. With its’ white sand beaches and waves, it is hard to imagine that you are not on an ocean shore. The unexplored Livingstone Mountains offer an unforgettable backdrop.

Nyasa Waves is offered as a 10-Day Safari, but can be adjusted depending on personalized requirements. The safari starts at the beautiful Mbamba Bay. Mode of travel is mainly by motor-driven boat and 4x4 vehicles, but off-road motorbikes could also come into use. This is all itinerary dependant. The accommodation at Mbamba Bay is simple luxury, with all the necessary amenities and facilities in place. Nights away from base will involve camping on the beach, in comfort and with essentials in abundance, along with hearty, warm meals and a generous beverage corner. We call it, roughing it in style.
