Choose from Bagamoyo, Saadani, Pangani and Kilwa - exclusive safaris offered by Wild Footprints.
A World Heritage Site rich in history. Its’ importance as a trading port dates back eight centuries. It was the main slave & ivory port and served as a starting point for many missionaries and explorers in the early colonial days. It is also East Africa’s first Catholic Mission. There are numerous beach resorts to make your stay comfortable. The sights can be covered in a day, but an overnight is recommended.
Where bush meets beach. Saadani National Park is one of the smaller, newer and least visited parks in Tanzania. It is an unusual but fascinating place. Imagine walking on the beach and seeing a pride of lions resting up ahead with the sea-breeze in their faces… It’s that kind of place. Although scarce and shy, game viewing is exciting. The seafood is fantastic. Especially the giant prawns when in season. To really get the most out of Saadani, you need between 3 to 5 days.
A coastal hideaway. Sandy beaches, laid-back residents and limited activities make this an ideal location for those who just want to get away from it all and turn down the pace. Besides the Pangani River & dinosaur fossil site, there is little else to do but swim, tan, read, fish, rest, eat, drink and enjoy the exclusivity of Pristine Pangani.
Made up by the three settlements of Kivinje, Masoko & Kisiwani, this destination is rich in coastal culture, history and beautiful beaches. It is now a World Heritage Site for its’ historical significance as the largest and most well preserved Swahili ruins. The fishing is great and there is no shortage of laid-back culture to mingle with. You get the feeling that technology means little out here and the smiles and content expressions on people’s faces get you into the tune of things.
