\ Wild Footprints Ltd | Community Projects

In the year 2000, during our annual community seminars with various Village Governments adjacent to our hunting concession, it was negatively noted by both company and village leaders that benefits from the utilisation of resources and contributions from the company were actually being registered but the impact was minimal and in some cases, never reached target communities.  The funds were being misused and a large segment of the community had no idea about the large amounts of funding provided by the company.  Despite our awareness efforts and continued donations and community assistance, the positive effect of sustainable wildlife utilisation did not register with the masses.

Over the next few years we set out to meet the challenge and through a cooperative effort between the Village, Ward, Division, District, Regional & Company administrative units, managed to establish ways to invest in projects that do have a wider impact on specific communities relevant to our tourist hunting operations.
