The main focus is on conservation awareness and anti-poaching operations. Wild Footprints takes these two approaches very seriously. Despite various setbacks we are committed, persistent and relentless in our efforts to fulfill our conservation goals. Our vision is summarised in our mission statement. |
The awareness program is aimed at keeping the community leaders in touch and well aware of the value of natural resources and their importance, not only for generations to follow, but also as a means to alleviate poverty and enhance development in the present. Leadership is paramount and a largely illiterate and un-exposed rural population requires positive and well informed leaders.

Wild Footprints is famous for it's Village Meat Distribution Program. We understand and accept the need for wild meat as a main source of protein for the rural communities in Tanzania. The company delivers most of the game meat harvested by tourists to Village Governments, who then distribute the meat to its communities for free. Village functions such as weddings, funerals, graduations and church feasts are all provided with game meat by the company. |
Anti-poaching operations are carried out in collaboration between the Wildlife Division, District Game Office and Wild Footprints Conservation Force. The operations are conducted on a monthly basis, throughout the year. All forms of poaching and illegal harvests are dealt with and brought to justice. Vehicles, bikes, boats and foot patrols are all implemented. |
